A Parent’s Guide to Free and Low-Cost Food Assistance in Wake County
As your pediatric care team, we want to ensure our patients and families have the information and resources they need regarding recent changes to SNAP and WIC, this November, and can access food assistance in Wake County. We understand that these programs play an important role in supporting children’s health and nutrition, and we’re committed to helping families stay informed and connected.
What to Do if You Receive SNAP and WIC Benefits
Use your current benefits as usual. SNAP and WIC benefits that have already been issued will remain available on your cards and can still be used for eligible purchases.
Continue to submit renewals on time. Even with funding changes, it’s important to complete renewals and respond to any notices to avoid delays once normal funding resumes.
Apply if you need benefits. Applications will continue to be accepted and processed as soon as possible when funding is restored, so please don’t delay if your family could benefit from these programs.
